Areas of Practice
psychoeducational assessment
A psychoeducational assessment is an evaluation in which in a child's learning and development are explored to identify academic and cognitive strengths and weaknesses. Psychoeducational assessments help educators, parents, and students better understand how they learn and process information. This can inform what interventions, accommodations, and support will be most helpful for the student.
twice exceptional (2e)
2E testing (Twice Exceptional) are learners who are simultaneously gifted and have a disability or learning difference. For example, a student may be on the Autism Spectrum, but also have an IQ in the gifted range. These unique learners require support at school to ensure they are being challenged academically, but also succeeding socially and emotionally.
independent educational evaluation
An Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) is a private evaluation by a neutral, third-party professional that provides a second opinion on a child's special education needs. Parents of children with disabilities can request an IEE if they disagree with the results of the school's evaluation. We work with school districts in the Bay Area to provide assessments for families to ensure their child’s needs are being met.
professional development
We are available for speaking engagements and professional development for school staff, parent groups, and community events. We offer both in person and virtual trainings on a wide variety of topics including the special education process, Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Executive Functioning, and other topics related to child development and mental health.
gifted (iq) assessment
Children who are gifted are defined as those who demonstrate an advanced ability or potential in one or more specific areas when compared to others of the same age, experience or environment. These gifted individuals excel in their ability to think, reason and judge, and require unique educational supports to develop their potential and talents. We offer the WPPSI-IV and WISC-V for admissions for schools that serve gifted populations.
consultation
We provide consultation for schools, teachers, clinicians, and parents to navigate behaviors, academic challenges, and mental health concerns. We also provide IEP consultation to support students and their families in navigating the special education process to ensure they are receiving adequate evidence-based support.
